FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything people usually ask us. If something is missing, write to geral@thevaltara.com.

What is Valtara?

Valtara is a creative community disguised as a clothing brand, born in Porto, Portugal, and founded by Francisco Malafaya. It brings together limited-edition clothing, events (concerts, poetry, open mics and sessions such as Beats & Poetry) and an online platform with the Codex, points, music and community articles.

Where do the events take place?

Events happen mostly in Porto, and the goal is to reach other cities. Dates, venues and tickets are at thevaltara.com/events.

Can anyone come to the events?

Yes. There is no application or selection: just show up, with a ticket when the event requires one. Some events may have an age restriction, shown on the event page.

How do tickets work?

Tickets are bought on each event's page and stay in your Valtara account with a QR code. They are checked at the door and are valid until the end of the event. Resale is not allowed without Valtara's permission.

Can I cancel a ticket or get a refund?

Tickets are non-refundable unless required by law. Cancellation requests go to geral@thevaltara.com and are subject to approval. If an event is postponed, changed or cancelled, updates and any refunds are communicated by email.

Can I return a clothing item?

Yes: you have 14 days to withdraw from the purchase after receiving your order, under Portuguese and EU law. Write to geral@thevaltara.com to start the return. Personalised, damaged, exclusive or limited items may not be eligible.

What is the QR code on the pieces for?

Every Valtara piece has a QR code (and some have NFC) that links it to the platform. Scanning it earns you points, and registering it as yours unlocks its full Codex entry and exclusive content.

What is the Codex?

The Codex is the catalogue of every Valtara piece, released and upcoming, with each one's concept, collection, rarity and edition. Register your pieces to unlock them. It lives at thevaltara.com/codex.

How do points work?

Almost everything on Valtara earns points: scanning a piece (the piece's value), registering a piece as yours (three times its value), buying tickets, pieces and digital products (1 point per euro), sharing events and pieces with your link when someone buys, and occasional missions. The total you've earned sets your level; spending points never lowers it.

I'm an artist. How can I perform at an event?

We're always looking for musicians, poets and performers, including for Beats & Poetry. Send a short introduction and some of your work (text, audio, video or Instagram) to geral@thevaltara.com.

Can I organise an event or make merch with Valtara?

Yes. For events, tell us about the venue, format and dates; for merch, we help design and produce pieces with your project's identity. Either way, write to geral@thevaltara.com.

How do I contact Valtara?

By email at geral@thevaltara.com, by phone at +351 968 082 129, or on Instagram @thevaltara.
